A new terminal doubles the Varna Airport’s Capacity

The investment in the new Varna Airport Terminal is about 7 mln euro. The total built up area of the new facility is 6 000 sq.m. The new terminal will increase twice the capacity of Varna International Airport. This was announced by the executive director of the airport Andrea Andreev at the official opening of the new facility.The new terminal № 5 could serve up to 4 arriving and 4 leaving flights per hour. The facility is spread on a territory of 6 000 sq.m. and it is situated at about 1 km west of the main building of the airport.It has 10 registration desks, 6 check points, 2 luggage bands, 6 cafes, many offices and shops. The terminal was opened last Saturday. The first passengers who have used it were from the arrived flight from Marsilia, and from the departure flights for Kioln and Leipzig. The total number of the staff has been increased with 800 for the summer season and now about 1300 people are working at the Varna International Airport. |
