A new lift to connect the town of Smolyan with Pamporovo ski resort

The  capacity of the lift will be 1000 persons per hour. A new lift will connect Smolyan with Pamporovo, the TV tower and Snejanka Tower. The locals and the guests of the town of Smolyan will be able soon to use the cable car to reach Pamporovo. The project has alread gave huge investors’ interests, announced Dora Ynakova. Two project teams have developed the conceptions for the transport equipment, which will cost about 25 million BGN. The cable car will be 7 km long and will considerably shorten the distance between Smolyan and Pamporovo. The plan for the first part of the lift is to be 5 km long and to be 100% transport connected.  It will start from Smolyan and will carry six persons in a cabin. The distance to Raykovski Livadi site, where the middle station will be situated will be taken for less than 10 minutes. The lift will proceed than to Snejanka peak, where the tourists will be directly downhilled  along the white slopes. The technical research has already been completed. The mayor of Smolyan Dora Yankova hopes that the construction and the installation of the equipment will start together with the development of the resort main part “Raikovski Livadi”. The municipal council has taken the decisionfor the hotels and villas to be higher not more than four floors and that way the nature and the natural land shaft of the terrain to be preserved.   Source:  Standart News
