10th International Jazz Festival in Bansko, 8 - 13 August, 2007

At present Bansko is probably better know as a good value ski destination. The ski resort attracts many investors who develop the area more and more each year. During the summer, there is an event which brings together many admirers and lovers of the good music. This is the International Jazz festival, which is being traditionally held every year from August 8 to August 13 in Bansko. During the period of six nights the famous resort becomes the capital of jazz.The International Jazz festival is one of the oldest jazz festivals, which are being held in Bulgaria and one of the most prestigious international music event, which are taking place in our country as well. This year the festival will celebrate its tenth anniversary. A great number of performers from different countries are invited to take part in the Jubilee celebration of the festival. Musicians from Switzerland, the Netherlands, the UK, Belgium, Austria, Germany, Greece, Egypt and more will present their performances. The lovers of nu-jazz, electronic, down-tempo and world music need to be definitely at the concert of Praful and friends – one of the most colourful bands, which will be presented at the festival. The open air stage will be built at the central town square of Bansko, but the musicians will also perform in the many night clubs and in the bars and the streets will be full of people, looking for the next jam session. After-parties, luncheon barbecues and jazz coffees are also being organized.The organizers of the event promise to turn this year’s Jazz festival into an unforgettable music event for all those who appreciate and value the good music.During the Jazz festival the accommodations in Bansko are always not enough. This is the period when all the apartments and houses are rented out for visitors and guests of the famous town.
