Less tourists from Serbia, Macedonia and Montenegro have visited Bulgaria in the period January-May 2007, according to the information of the State Agency for Tourism. The main reason for the decrease is the necessity for these tourists to have visas for entering Bulgaria which is an EU member since January 2007.However, the number of foreign tourists coming from EU countries have increased with 32 per cent. The number of Russians visiting Bulgaria is 16 per cent higher than the same period last year as well.About 500 euro is the average income from a tourist, who visit Bulgaria in 2007, the Bulgarian Tourist Chamber Anelia Krushkova said. That turns the holiday in Bulgaria in one of the cheapest in Europe.World Tourism Organsiation data shows that in 2006, the average income from a tourist in Europe was 600 euro, while around the world it was 650 euro. In Bulgaria last year, the revenue from a tourist was 490 euro.The most popular and preferred Bulgaria’s summer destinations remain Golden Sands, Sunny Beach and Albena. |
