A skyscraper to be build in the city centre of Varna

The building will be located at the city’s main pedestrian zone and will be about 101m high. A detailed structural plan for the construction of a skyscraper in the centre of Varna is being permitted. The new facility will be located just opposite the famous Black Sea Hotel (Cherno more). That was announced by the city’s Head Architect Ivan Trendafilov, on a meeting of the Architecture Board. According to Architect Trendafilov the future building will be a lot higher than Black Sea Hotel, which is the highest building in the city’s pedestrian zone. An investor of the project is “Festa Holding” company and an executor will be the famous “Bord” building company. The construction will be located at the place of the former Chess Club in the city centre. The terrain which will be built up is about 1390 sq.m. and the total built up area will be about 18 000 sq.m. The building will be more than 25 - storey high. As a parallel the building of Varna Municipality is 17- storey high. The parking spaces are the biggest problem of the project, Architect Trendafilov announced. A great number of parking lots should be provided for such a specious built up area.  According to the company investor, about 400-600 parking places need to be ensured. There are two different options for parking. The first idea of the investor is a three-storey, underground parking to be constructed. The other suggestion is the area under ‘Kniaz Boris’ Boulevard to be used in length. The last is not possible to be realized, because the terms for regulating the underground areas are not specified yet. In this connection the legislation will be changed soon and a lot of new opportunities for using the underground terrains will be suggested, a representative of the Architecture Board explained. Source: Dnevnik.bg
