The new Golden Sands Resort Marina should be ready by 2009

The new yacht port, which is planned to be constructed in the Golden Sands resort, will confirm its positions as a leading summer destination, offering a full range of services. The executive director of Golden Sands AD Nikolay Nedkov explained that several major investors have declared their interest in financing and constructing the new facility. The total investment in the project is estimated at about 7-8 million euro. The resort operator explained that it will be hard for them to ensure the whole amount, as there are some current projects running, with high priority as well.The construction of the yacht port has already begun, but still a lot of details should be completed. The resort has spent about 500 000 euro for new berths and landscaping so far.The new facility is located just next to the newly constructed amusement park, included a mini golf, paint ball courses, a restaurant and a specious parking. The total investment, which Golden Sands AD has made in 2007, has reached 5 million euro so far.      According to the resort operator, the new marina will be completed by 2009. The new facility is expected to increase the tourists’ interest in the destination. Currently the capacity of the resort is 85 % occupied.
