High-Tech Business Park to be Built near the town of Shumen, Bulgaria

A technological and innovative park will be constructed near the town of Shumen, northeastern Bulgaria. The facility will spread over a total area of 2,877,000 square metres and the construction of the first building is expected to start at the end of 2007. This will be one of a kind park in Bulgaria as the whole project is extremely innovative, the mayor of the town Veselin Zlatev announced at a press-conference. The multifunctional park will be located at the one side of the highway, near the railway line Varna – Shumen. The 151 million - euro project will include super modern solar power-plant which will produce as much electricity as half of the output of the Kozloduy nuclear power-plant. The technological park will house a silk processing plant, biofuel production plant, an exhibition hall and a scientific laboratory as well. The project was among the hot topics at the Investment forum "Discover Shumen" which was held on 31st May - 1st June in the town. Мore than 250 Bulgarian and foreign businessmen, foreign trade missions and diplomats took part in the forum, which purpose was to introduce the potential for investment in Shumen Municipality. The greatest interest among the potential investors was provoked by the concept of the first High-Tech Park. |
